It is believed that Embekke Devale was built by King Vikramabahu III of Gampola Era (1357 A.D. to 1374 A.D.). The temple has three sections namely the “Dancing Hall”, the “Drummers’ Hall” and the “Sanctum of Garagha”.

A visit to the paradise island will be incomplete without a trip to the world-renowned Horton Plains National Park Sri Lanka which is located approximately 103 kilometres away from Amaya Bungalow.
